You may pick any passage you would like. You might consider selecting a passage from your SIM papers but would like to go deeper with, a passage that is particularly meaningful to you, or a passage you have always wondered about.
The passage you select must be a natural unit of thought (e.g. narrative, pericope, paragraph, etc.)
If you select a passage you have already covered in a SIM paper, your hermeneutics paper must show evidence of interpretive research and reflection considerably deeper and more nuanced than that previously reflected in your SIM paper.
Sources & CitationYou are expected to consult at least six secondary sources. These sources must be solid sources such as commentaries and books written specifically about your passage. And, they must be written by credible scholars. You may use the course texts as sources (e.g. Russell, Fee & Stuart, etc.) but additional sources are expected.

Carefully cite all sources in proper Note-Bibliography Turabian Style (See Turabian Style Guide via Library and Writing Resources). Footnotes should appear in text following every reference to another author’s work, quote, or idea. A Turabian style bibliography page should be included at the end of the paper.
